In-House Dental Laboratory

Less than 3% of dental offices have an in-house laboratory. Ours is the reason our work looks the way it does.

Behind every great dentist stands a great team of dental technicians and ceramists. Our Clearwater office has assembled a world-class group of master ceramists with more than 100 years of combined experience — crafting every restoration we place, under one roof, in collaboration with the doctor throughout your treatment.

A True Advantage

Why in-house changes everything for complex cases.

Most dental offices ship impressions to an external lab and wait two to three weeks for the result. If something is off — a shade mismatch, a contour issue, a bite that feels wrong — the restoration goes back and the cycle starts again.

In our practice, the ceramist walks down the hall. We review photos together. We refine the case in real time. For anterior cosmetic cases, full-mouth reconstructions, and any time aesthetics cannot be compromised — this level of collaboration is not just better; it's the difference between a good result and a great one.

What Our Lab Produces

Every restoration. Every case. Every day. Made here.

  • World-class master ceramists

Our technicians specialize in tooth morphology, framework design, and aesthetics. They layer porcelain to mimic the optical properties of natural enamel — translucency at the edges, warmer color near the gumline, subtle surface variation that makes a restoration disappear into the smile.

  • Top-of-the-line porcelain furnaces

We use precision furnaces calibrated to achieve the best aesthetics and strength for all-ceramic restorations. Every firing is controlled to the degree — the difference between a natural-looking result and a flat, lifeless one.

  • Microscope-verified fit

Every crown is checked to its die under a microscope before it ever touches your mouth. We verify biocompatibility with the surrounding gum tissue and refine margins at a level of precision hand inspection cannot match.

  • Real-time collaboration with the doctor

Because the lab is ten steps from the operatory, our ceramists can walk into the room during your appointment to match shade against your adjacent natural teeth, verify contour at try-in, and refine before the final cementation.

  • Complete case types

Single crowns, full-arch implant hybrids, porcelain veneers, inlays and onlays, framework design, wax-ups, dentures, bite blocks — everything we do is made in-house.

  • Full-mouth reconstruction ready

Complex cases where 20+ restorations must harmonize together are impossible to ship out and back. Our in-house team plans and fabricates the entire case as one unified piece of work — which is the only way full-mouth reconstruction can be done right.

Gold Restorations

The longest-lasting material in dentistry.

Nothing in restorative dentistry has a longer clinical track record than high-noble gold. Well-made gold onlays and crowns routinely serve for decades — we've seen 40+ years and counting — often outliving every other restoration in the mouth.

  • Kindest to the opposing tooth. Gold wears at almost exactly the rate of natural enamel. Porcelain and zirconia are harder than enamel and can slowly abrade the opposing tooth over decades.
  • Thinnest margins in dentistry. Gold can be cast and burnished to margins measured in microns — a level of marginal fit ceramics cannot match. Tighter margins mean less bacterial leakage and less recurrent decay.
  • Doesn't crack, chip, or shatter. Gold flexes rather than fractures. That's why a gold onlay placed in the 1970s is often still intact today, while porcelain placed last decade may already need replacement.
  • Biocompatible. High-noble gold alloy is inert in the mouth — no staining of surrounding tissue, no galvanic issues, no allergic response.

For back teeth where function matters more than visibility, gold is still — after more than 150 years of clinical use — the best long-term material dentistry has ever produced. Every gold restoration below was cast, finished, and polished in our in-house laboratory.

The Philosophy

“Behind every great dentist stands a great team of dental technicians and ceramists. Dental offices that have in-house labs possess a true advantage over traditional dental offices — especially when creating complex dental rehabilitations, and especially when matching a single anterior crown to neighboring natural teeth.”

— Strupp & Brumm Practice Philosophy

See the difference an in-house laboratory makes.

For cosmetic cases — veneers, smile designs, full-mouth reconstruction, implant restorations — the lab matters as much as the dentist. We'd welcome the chance to show you why.
