Cosmetic Dentist near Tampa, FL

Tampa is home to excellent general dentists — but for cosmetic and restorative work at the AACD Fellow level, patients cross the Howard Frankland every week to visit our Clearwater office. The drive is worth it.

From downtown Tampa, South Tampa, Westshore, or the University area, our Clearwater office is a straightforward 20–30 minute drive depending on traffic. Once you arrive, you'll find a calm, concierge-style practice where you're the only patient on the schedule during your visit.

Our Tampa patients typically come to us for one of three reasons: they want cosmetic work — veneers, a full smile design — at a level that demands an AACD Fellow's touch; they have a complex restorative or implant case that requires the integration of an in-house laboratory; or they want a relationship with a practice that still operates like dentistry used to, where your dentist knows you by name and your case is planned personally by the doctor.

If you're in Tampa and wondering whether the drive is worth it: the answer, by and large, is yes. Many of our Tampa patients were referred by their own general dentists in Tampa who send their complex cases our way.

The drive from Tampa to our Clearwater office

From most of Tampa, our office at 906 N Belcher Rd. is a 20–30 minute drive. From Westshore, South Tampa, or downtown, the Courtney Campbell Causeway drops you into north Pinellas in about 20 minutes outside of rush hour; from New Tampa, Carrollwood, or the USF area, the Veterans Expressway and Gunn Highway are usually the faster route. Patients coming from Brandon and Riverview typically take the Selmon Expressway to I-275 across the Howard Frankland.

Once you arrive, parking is free and directly outside the door — no downtown garages, no valet, no hunting for a meter. For a first cosmetic or restorative consultation, we suggest allowing a little extra time so the visit is unhurried; you will not be double-booked against another patient during a major appointment.

Why Tampa patients cross the bay for cosmetic dentistry

Tampa has many fine general dentists. What patients cross the bay for is a specific, hard-to-find combination: two AACD Accredited Fellows working together — a credential held by fewer than 100 dentists in the world — alongside an in-house master ceramist laboratory where every restoration is designed and finished on site. That pairing is what makes the difference on anterior veneer cases, complex smile designs, and full-mouth reconstructions, where the ceramist and the doctor need to refine the work together rather than mail it back and forth.

A meaningful share of our Tampa patients are referred by their own Tampa general dentists — the cases those dentists would rather send to a specialist-level cosmetic and restorative team than take on themselves. That kind of peer referral tends to say more than any advertisement could.

The work Tampa patients travel for

Most Tampa patients come to us for one of a few reasons: porcelain veneers and full smile design where the result has to look natural, not uniform; complex restorative and implant work — including fixed implant hybrids — that benefits from the in-house lab; or a long-term relationship with a practice that still plans each case personally. Routine hygiene and everyday preventive care are part of the practice too, so many Tampa families simply make us their dental home despite the drive.

If you are early in the process and unsure which treatment fits, that is exactly what a consultation is for. We examine your teeth and bite, listen to what you want to change, and give honest guidance — including when a more conservative option than the one you came in asking about is the better call.

Tampa patient questions

How far is Strupp & Brumm from Tampa?
Our Clearwater office is about a 20–30 minute drive from most of Tampa, via the Courtney Campbell Causeway or the Howard Frankland Bridge depending on where you start. Parking is free and directly outside the office.
Do Tampa patients really travel to Clearwater for a dentist?
Regularly. Ours is one of only two practices in the world with two AACD Accredited Fellows, paired with an in-house master ceramist laboratory. For cosmetic and complex restorative work at that level, Tampa patients — many referred by their own general dentists — make the short cross-bay trip every week.
Can you work around a demanding Tampa work schedule?
Yes. For complex cosmetic or reconstructive cases we sequence treatment into as few efficient visits as possible rather than many short ones, and we schedule one patient at a time during major procedures so your appointment starts on time and isn't rushed.
Do you accept referrals from Tampa general dentists?
We do, frequently. Many Tampa general dentists refer their complex cosmetic, implant, and full-mouth cases to us specifically because of the two-Fellow credential and the in-house laboratory. If your dentist has suggested you see us, you're in good company.
